Why can't buyers pay online?
Checkout only offers payment options you've enabled in Settings → Payments. If no card gateway is connected (with charges enabled) and pay-later is off, every option is greyed out and buyers see "Online payment is coming soon."
The Payment step at checkout lists three options — Pay by card, PayPal, and Reserve now, pay at the venue — but each one is only selectable when you've enabled it. Disabled options render greyed out, and when none is available, buyers see:
Online payment is coming soon. Tickets can't be purchased online yet.
Everything below lives in Settings → Payments (owner-only).
1. No card gateway connected — or charges not enabled yet
Pay by card requires an active payment account with card charges enabled. Two ways to get one:
- Connect your own Stripe — sales settle in your own Stripe account.
- Let Zunaro collect payments for you — a Zunaro-managed account with a short onboarding.
If you started but didn't finish onboarding, the page shows: "Almost there — Stripe still needs a few details before you can accept cards." Use Complete onboarding to finish. On the connection status card, check the Card charges row — it must say Enabled, not Not yet enabled, before the card option goes live at checkout.
2. PayPal isn't connected
The PayPal option works the same way: it's only offered once you've connected an active PayPal account with charges enabled. Use Connect PayPal and paste the Client ID, Client secret, and Webhook ID from your PayPal REST app — credentials are tested against PayPal before anything is saved.
3. Pay-later is switched off
Reserve now, pay at the venue is controlled by the Pay later (offline payment) toggle under Other ways to sell on the same page. With it on, buyers place an unpaid order online and pay you offline — cash, bank transfer, or check — and their tickets stay reserved under the order until settled.
4. The platform itself isn't configured
If the Payments page shows "Card payments are not available yet — the platform's payment keys are not configured. Contact Zunaro support.", card onboarding isn't possible on your platform yet — that one is on Zunaro, not you. Use pay-later in the meantime.
What buyers see in each state
- At least one option enabled — disabled options appear greyed out; the first available option is pre-selected.
- Nothing enabled — all options greyed out, the "Online payment is coming soon" message appears, and the order can't be placed. Buyers can still browse and add tickets to a cart, so enabling a payment option fixes checkout without anyone losing their cart.
