Sell free tickets
Price a ticket at 0 (or discount a cart to nothing) and Zunaro turns checkout into a one-tap "Get free tickets" — no card fields, no payment step. Free events never pay a per-ticket fee.
Free tickets need no special mode — you just price them at zero. When an order's total comes to nothing, checkout automatically drops the payment step: buyers see one button, Get free tickets, and the order is confirmed instantly.
Make a ticket free
-
Open your event and go to the Pricing section, Pricing tab.
-
Add a ticket type (e.g. "General Admission") — see Create ticket types.
-
Set its Price to 0 for each performance it's on sale for. A price of 0 makes the ticket free — that's the whole setup.
On the storefront the ticket now shows as Free, and the event card reads From $0.00. Setting up a brand-new event? When Ask Zunaro or the onboarding flow asks How much is a ticket?, just choose Free.
What buyers see
A cart that totals $0.00 checks out with no payment method at all. Instead of card or PayPal, the checkout shows the note This order is free — no payment needed. and a single Get free tickets button. Buyers still enter their name and email so their tickets have somewhere to go, then land straight on the confirmation with their tickets — exactly like a paid order, minus the payment.
Free through a 100% discount
You don't need a free ticket type — a discount or promo code that reduces the whole cart to zero triggers the same free checkout. Set up a 100%-off code under Pricing → Discounts (see Create discounts and promo codes).
Free events cost you nothing
There's no per-ticket platform fee on free tickets — free events are always free to run. You keep every attendee's contact just like a paid sale.
At the box office
Selling free tickets in person works the same way: add the free ticket to the sale and the counter's pay button becomes Complete sale — no tender to collect. Comp tickets (a staff giveaway) also record a zero-value order in your reports.
