Add surcharges and taxes

Surcharges (processing fees) can be charged per ticket or per transaction, flat or percent, and marked taxable. Taxes apply on the discounted ticket price plus taxable surcharges. Both are toggled per performance and per sales channel.

Surcharges and taxes have their own tabs in the event wizard's Pricing section: Surcharges (titled Processing fees) and Taxes. Both need at least one performance to exist first.

Add a surcharge

  1. In the Surcharges tab, select New surcharge.

  2. Enter the Surcharge name (buyers don't see individual names — fees roll up into the order totals).

  3. Set the Amount and UnitFlat or Percent.

  4. Choose Apply on: Per ticket charges it once per paid ticket; Per transaction charges it once per order group. Per-transaction surcharges must be Flat — percent isn't allowed there.

  5. Mark it Taxable or Non-taxable — this decides whether your taxes are calculated on top of it.

  6. In General settings, toggle each performance on for Box office and/or Online store.

Percent surcharges are calculated on the discounted ticket price, and free tickets never collect per-ticket surcharges.

Add a tax

  1. In the Taxes tab, select New tax.

  2. Enter the Tax name (e.g. VAT), the Amount, and the UnitFlat or Percent.

  3. Toggle each performance on for Box office and/or Online store in the Performances table.

You can drag taxes to reorder them in the list — that's the order they're listed in. Each tax is calculated independently on the same base, so the order doesn't change the math.

How the totals are calculated

For each order group, the tax base is the discounted ticket price plus any surcharges you marked Taxable (per-ticket and per-transaction alike). Non-taxable surcharges are added to the total but stay out of the tax base. Free tickets are excluded from the tax base entirely, and when a group's tax base is zero, no taxes are charged at all — even flat ones.

What buyers see

Per-ticket surcharges are folded into each ticket's line price on the storefront — buyers don't see a separate fee per ticket. The cart summary then shows the rolled-up lines: Tickets subtotal, Order fees (your per-transaction surcharges), and Taxes, followed by the Total. The total the buyer sees in the cart is exactly what they pay.
