Sell tickets at the box office
Open the Box Office counter, build a sale by picking a performance and tickets, take payment by cash, card, or another tender, then print or email the tickets. This is the staff point-of-sale for in-person sales.
To sell in person, open Box Office in your dashboard sidebar. This is a full-screen point-of-sale counter: pick a performance, add tickets to the sale, and take payment. You need box-office access for the store, and the same counter sells across every performance and event you have on sale.
Build a sale
The counter shows a strip of upcoming performance dates along the top and the events on sale for the selected day. Reserved-seating shows open a seat map; general-admission shows use plus/minus steppers per ticket type.
- Pick a day from the date strip, then select the performance you want to sell for.
- For general admission, use Add to sale and the steppers to add each ticket type. For reserved seating, click seats on the map to hold them.
- Watch the Current sale rail on the right build up with your tickets, fees, taxes, and a running Total.
- Optionally switch to the Products tab to add concessions or merchandise to the same sale.
Choose delivery
Each ticket group in the sale has a Delivery choice: Print or Email. Pick Email and the group needs a buyer email address before you can charge. Which options appear depends on the delivery methods you enabled for the event.
Take payment
Select Charge on the sale rail to open the payment panel, then pick a payment method under Payment method. The methods you see depend on what you have set up — offline tenders are always available, and Card or PayPal appear only when that gateway is connected and can take charges.
- Cash — enter the Cash received (or tap Exact or a quick-tender chip) and the Change due is shown for you.
- Card — a card payment panel opens right in the sheet to take the card.
- Check — enter the Check number (required), plus optional Bank name and Check date.
- Complimentary — give the tickets away at no charge.
- PayPal — sends you to PayPal to complete the payment.
- Pay later and Other — record the sale now and settle payment separately.
Under Buyer details, name and phone are optional for a walk-up; an email becomes required when the sale delivers by email, and card or PayPal payments need at least the buyer's first name and email.
Finish and print
After payment you land on the Sale complete screen. From here you can Print receipt, Print tickets, or Email tickets to the buyer, and start the next sale with New sale. Box-office sales also appear on your Orders page with a Box office badge, where you can refund or look them up later.
